The original Broadway Market was opened in 1930.
We still see people everyday who remember the Lichter family and their long history
of serving their mid Cambridge neighbors.
In 1995, the store was rejuvenated when a group of small business owners got together to form
the Broadway Marketplace.
The store has undergone many changes over the years, and after a roof collapse on New Year's Eve, 2002,
the store experienced yet another renaissance.
The company's catering division, Broadway Gourmet, outgrew the retail space over the next few years.
After relocating the catering operation to a new facility in Boston,
Charlie Bougas, one of the original Broadway Marketplace founders,
and a third generation family grocer, purchased the
Broadway Wine and Liquor Store with the intention of
creating a fun and exciting neighborhood shopping experience.
Stay tuned for lots of exciting changes.
Charlie and his management team are working hard to make the Broadway Marketplace a fun place for
people all around Mid Cambridge and Harvard Square to shop, eat, or just hang out.
Join us for twice weekly wine tastings and food samplings all year round.
Sign up for our Priority List Here and we'll send you advance notifications

friends and neighbors by offering great food,
great atmosphere and great service, without exception.
